I am a marine scientist and spend some of my free time as an artist. I'm married with two daughters and one son and currently working in Miami, Florida for BAE Systems.  I received my PhD in marine biology and fisheries in 2003 from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and have a few published papers. My area of research is shallow water optical remote sensing, using hyperspectral airborne imaging systems to map the seafloor.

Now and then I make it out to Gencon and compete in the painting contest. I win some, I lose some, it's all good. In between figures, I paint in watercolors, acrylics, oils and occasionally on silks. Mostly I paint nature scenes or animals, with some fantasy art now and then.
